Students in 7th grade math class are learning real life application of percents. Some topics that we are working on understanding are percent increase, percent decrease, commission, profit, etc. The students are interested in learning this subject matter and have asked questions about taxes and sales. Sixth grade students have been learning unit rates and related rates. They have been practicing how to find the best buy when given different prices for items. This can be very useful when shopping and trying to save money.
