This year is my second year in the co-teach setting in 7th and 8th grade Social Studies and Science. So far, we are off to a great start.
In 7th grade Social Studies, the students in Mrs. Mendez's and Ms. Citron's classes have been learning about Mesoamerican Civilizations: Incas, Mayans and Aztecs. The students in Ms. Citron's class have been researching these civilizations. After completing research, the students in Mrs. Mendez's class completed foldables to present the information they learned about the three civilizations.
In 8th grade Social Studies with Mr. Powers, the students completed a stock market project. The students were able to choose two competitor companies.The students had to find information related to their stocks such as the 52 week high and the 52 week low. They completed a slide presentation to display their research.
In 8th grade Science with Mrs. Duba, the students were able to complete a penny lab. Students were able to practice CER (claim, evidence and reasoning) in order to write reasoning statements.
