The WMS Field Hockey team completed their season on the winning end, once again! Our final record was 10 wins, 2 losses. From the beginning of the season, our team worked their hardest at every practice to make sure they were at their best for every game. Coupled with an incredible amount of determination and teamwork, we were able to finish our season on top. Our front line dominated most games and shared the excitement of scoring a goal with each other. Every front line player scored at least once! The midfielders, which contained one returning and three first year players, showed their endurance each and every game to assist most goals - and score some of their own. Defenders and Goalies worked together to shift into their positions and stop opposing teams from scoring.
This group of ladies should be commended for their sportsmanship, school spirit, and dedication to their team. They were praised numerous times for their kind hearts and tough, but fair game play from referees and coaches throughout the season. Our returning players were incredibly helpful towards our new players, some of which were brand new to field hockey! I’m always proud of the team Westampton brings each season, and this team is no different. So, thank you for being one of the BEST!
Best of luck to our eight excellent 8th graders as they continue their field hockey careers in high school! Thank you to all of our families and fans who came out to each game, car pool for practice, and show support in every way possible. Underclassman, I hope to see all of you back next season!
If you’ve ever been to one of our games, you can hear us before and after ending our cheer with our team motto - Tough to Play, Tougher to Beat - and that, they were! Congratulations on another successful season, Giants!
