During the month of October, WIS students learned about the many ways they can show kindness to others.  Mrs. Carmichael, our school counselor, came to each classroom and read aloud the book “Kindness is Cooler” by Margery Cuy. The story is about a teacher who helps her students understand that simple acts of kindness really do make a difference in our community, school, and at home.   All month long students in both 4th and 5th grade have been recording acts of kindness on paper hearts.  Then, the hearts are displayed in the hallway.  The goal is to reach 100 acts of kindness.  The grade who meets the goal first wins an ice cream party!  In the end, students learn that simple acts of kindness make the world a better place.
