Student work

7th graders completed an advertisement project where they combined their knowledge of advertisements seen everyday and the colonial time period.  Students chose a total of three audiences/groups who moved to the New World. The groups ranged anywhere between the French, British, Spanish, Puritans, African Americans, Native Americans, etc.   Two advertisements tried to convince their audience to move to the New World and one advertisement was against it.

8th graders completed a project centered around the Reform Movements of the 1800s.  After learning about the Prison Reform, Abolitionist Movement, Women’s Reform, Temperance Movement, and the Education Reform, students chose three movements to create posters for.  The posters had to include the tone and purpose of the movement from that time period.
