Stem pencil holder

STEM Club members in grades 6-8 have been working creatively the past few weeks! Our pumpkin carving contest has just ended and I am excited to see all of the unique designs they came up with. The STEM Club twist was to use one item that is not part of the pumpkin to add to their design. See picture above for one of their clever ideas! Also, we have learned about the UNLESS Contest at the Philadelphia Zoo from a Zoo worker herself (through zoom, of course). She told us about the endangered animals and problems in our environment that we can help fix.

6th graders worked on some programming animation on Scratch to “animate a name”. They made their words move, change colors, talk, have sound effects and more. Lastly, we have been working on some 3D designs on a program called Tinkercad, to create surprise gifts for our awesome teachers who are working so hard to teach us at home and in person! The picture above shows what Tinkercad looks like. We will print these designs using our Lulzbot 3D printer and the teachers will get the actual 3D model that we created.
