Seventh and eighth grade music classes are working on making Musical Maps to explore how we have come to have our current musical preferences. Students have been asked to brainstorm various contexts in which they can divide their musical journeys, and then fill in the contexts with songs, genres, or significant musical moments. Together we are exploring the following questions- Why do we like the music we like? Are our current musical preferences the same as they were last year, two years ago, or even five years ago? Why do some of our musical preferences change? Why do some stay the same?
