6th grade has been up and moving during PE this month!  Each class has everyone up out of their chair and getting their heart pumping.  Some of our workouts have included High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), light cardio, plyometric, and the class favorite “This or That”. A “This or That” workout gives the students a topic for them to choose their favorite item.  Students then complete the exercise related to their choice.  All of our exercises are family friendly and we’ve even had some family members join us for our workouts!  Students have also learned how to calculate their own heart rate.  Together we find our resting heart rate and post workout heart rate for each class.  We’re also recording the number of push ups and sit ups they can complete in a minute.  Our goal is to do 1 more push up or sit up per class.  Students have been charting their progress on their Monthly Fitness Tracker.  Everybody has been doing a great job!
