Hello! Welcome to Elizabeth Simpson's Communication Skills Website. |
I am a graduate of The College of New Jersey, formerly Trenton State Colllege, where I received both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology. I am a fully accredited member of the American Speech/Language Hearing Association holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence as a Speech/Language Pathologist. I also hold the State certification of Speech/Language Specialist required in order to work with children in the public school systems in New Jersey. I have experience in speech and language not only from my course work and work experience, but in my role as mother. My older son, now a law school graduate from Villanova Law School, was diagnosed as having ADD, (Attention Deficit Disorder), when he was in the 2nd grade. We dealt with medication issues and setting up a 504 plan for him along the way. My younger son was diagnosed as having an apraxia of speech at 2 years of age. His sensory muscle feedback system did not work well for him, leaving him with very immature sounding speech. He is now attending West Chester University. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns you may have as I am always happy to speak with parents about their children. |
